Lucas Eugene "Luke" Mountjoy, age 49, 0f Martinsville, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His death was sudden and unexpected. Luke was born September 22, 1974, in Wilmington, Ohio the son of the late Albert Eugene and Carol Ann (Hamilton) Mountjoy. Luke enjoyed cars and animals. He also enjoyed music, especially old gospel, blue grass, and country. More than anything, he loved his family, and treated all the kids in the family as his kids. He is survived by two brothers, Shane Mountjoy of Martinsville, and Jed (Lisa) Mountjoy, of Martinsville; nieces and nephews, Abbi (Justin) Clark, Jaysun Mountjoy, Charles Mountjoy, Austin Mountjoy, Preston Mountjoy, Addie Clark, Alex Clark, Chase Mangold, and Matt Mangold; and several aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, Luke is preceded in death by all his grandparents. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Steve Cole will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. I met Luke years ago. He.had a wonderful sense of humor. We would talk about nothing but it was everything. He truly loved his family and would drop whatever he was doing.and help. He had a rough life but he wouldn't change a minute of it
