Lucas graduated from BOCES/CPP High School in 2023 having earned the Most Outstanding Award. Lucas was a great athlete loving baseball and hockey, but more than anything else he had the most loving and empathetic heart. He would do anything for anyone and he proved that many times over to family, friends and even strangers. Lucas loved to fish and his happy place was by the stream with a fishing pole in his hand. Lucas was employed by Goodrich Auto Works in Bath.
He is survived by his mother, Kamie Saurbaugh (Richard Mealy), father, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Saurbaugh, siblings, Ben and Anna Saurbaugh, maternal grandparents, Robert and Valerie Button, paternal grandmother, Adele Rieppel-Kies, paternal grandfather, Russell Saurbaugh, step siblings Kaitlyn and Lucas Monroe, Hannah and Jacob Mealy, uncles, Aaron (Beki) Button, Craig Button (Pam Markel), Collin (Carrie) Button, Michael (Lisa) Saurbaugh, Brad (Kelly) Saurbaugh, and Ashley Saurbaugh, and many cousins. Lucas was predeceased by his paternal step grandfather, Richard Kies.
A private celebration of Lucas's life will take place at the convenience of the family.
