November 13, 2024, Lucas "Luke" Tanner Ward went home to be with the Lord at the age of 32. He was a bright light in a hurting world, a beautiful soul; talented, funny, and smart with a smile that could bring sunshine to the darkest day.
Lucas was born in Mesa, AZ on December 12, 1991 to James Ward and Dani Owen.
He attended North Sevier Elementary, Richfield Middle School, and graduated High School from Morning Star Academy in 2007.
He competed in skating competitions at the Richfield Skate Park while in Middle School and often came away with a prize. He also enjoyed baseball, building bike ramps and jumping bikes. He taught himself how to play the guitar when he was 15. He had rediscovered his passion for playing recently and had begun writing his own music.
In 2019 he began working with Shaun Barney laying carpet for Ogden's Furniture. He enjoyed learning the trade and took great pride in his work. His relationship with Shaun would grow from a professional association into a longstanding personal friendship that was more like family. He loved the work and the man who trained him to the very end.
He is survived by his son Ezekial, Tucumcari, NM; his mother Dani Owen of Redmond, UT; his father, James Ward of Bluffton, SC; his sister, Sophie Ward of Jacksonville, FL; his grandparents, Joe and Diane Kropf, and Aunt Joanne Kropf of Fredricksburg , VA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Sevier Valley, 130 North Main in Richfield, UT. Lunch will be served following the service. We welcome everyone to join us.
My beautiful boy.....I love you, forever. Hug everyone for me. I will see you soon and all will be right.
