Lucia Ziccardi, of Bloomfield and formerly East Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 with her loving family by her side, at the age of 98.
Visiting will be held in Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 4-8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Church, Nutley, NJ followed by the entombment in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ. Mrs. Ziccardi was born and raised in Alberona, Foggia, Italy and has resided in East Orange and Bloomfield, NJ for many years.
She worked as a seamstress since her teenage years until her retirement at the age of 78. Short of stature, she was a tower of strength and an inexhaustible reservoir of kindness towards others.
Lucia is the beloved wife of the late Vito Ziccardi; loving mother of Joseph Ziccardi, Monsignor Anthony Ziccardi, Suor M. Costanza (Incoranata), and the late Donato Ziccardi, and Antonietta Cirelli; dear sister of the late Antonio Finelli, Rosaria Corvelli, Leonarda Altilia, and Salvatore Finelli; cherished grandmother of Rosa Ventura and her husband Frank, Donatella Verrico and her husband Domenic, Silvana Salvi and her husband Ryan, Tina Butera and her husband Nicholas, Lia Ziccardi, and Laura Lepore; great-grandmother of Lorraina, Elisa, Liliana, Daniel, Matteo, Julian, Milla and Leela.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Seminary, Seton Hall University.
