Joseph Carmon Ziccardi Jr.

Joseph Carmon "Joe" Ziccardi, Jr. 86, peacefully departed on June 30, 2025. He was born October 20, 1938 in Mount Holly, NJ, the son of Joseph Carmon Ziccardi, Sr. and Elizabeth Ida (Sloan) Ziccardi. Joe grew up in Maple Shade, NJ where he resided and raised his family for 40 years. After attending Villanova University and meeting the love of his life, Barbara, he was employed as a 5th grade teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the United States Post Office until he landed his dream job at Coca-Cola USA. He had a very successful 30-year career with Coca-Cola and moved his family from NJ to Minneapolis, MN and Cleveland, OH. Joe was an avid sports fan. While living 17 years in Cleveland Ohio and working for Coca-Cola, he had the chance to manage accounts with professional sports teams like the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers. He was fortunate to retire early and moved to Sanibel Island in 1998. His sales experience and natural knack for communicating with people led him out of retirement and into real estate in 2008. In his free time Joe loved cooking and watching sports. He was especially known for his spaghetti and meatballs and hot peppers and sausage. To Joe, family was everything. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and was blessed to have had them all nearby. Joe was known as the patriarch of his family as the oldest of all his Ziccardi cousins. He had strong values and was a very optimistic and giving person which he attributed to his mother and father. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in life by his daughter, Susan B. (Ziccardi) Speights. Surviving is his wife Barbara (Corcory) Ziccardi; son, Joseph C. Ziccardi III and wife Glory; daughter, Beth Ann Miller and husband Robert; son in law, Arthur Speights; brother, Anthony Ziccardi and wife Mary; grandchildren, Vanessa Lewis, Gina Baran, Melissa Miller, Jacob Miller, Olivia Miller, Christopher Johnson, Jordan Speights, Tammie Steele, and Steven Ziccardi; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A mass will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at St Isabel's Catholic Church at 3559 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel, FL.
