Lucinda (Lucy) Strickland McMichael of Dublin, GA, formerly of Wrightsville, GA, died on February 9, 2023. Lucinda was born in Terrell County, GA on August 28, 1936, the daughter of Clarence A. Strickland and Lillie K. Strickland. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Georgia State College for Women. She taught school in the Griffin-Spalding and Johnson County school systems. She was married for 39 years to Charles T. McMichael, former editor and publisher of the Wrightsville Headlight and later president of Electro-Mech Scoreboard Company in Wrightsville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wrightsville.
Survivors include sons Allen R. McMichael (Lisa), Charles C. McMichael (Jan); granddaughters Bliss McMichael and Blair Long (Eli); grandsons Raines McMichael and Thomas McMichael; sisters Wanda Burgess and Binky Strickland; brothers Stan J. Strickland and Anthony K. Strickland (Carol).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. McMichael, three sisters Katrina Gloria Strickland, Merry Ann Finch, and Ramona Parish, and one brother, Van D. Strickland.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Stanley Funeral Home in Wrightsville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Trinity Christian School in Dublin or The Methodist Home for Children & Youth in Macon.
