Lucy Mae Davenport, 88 of Windsor, CT transitioned on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Lucy was born in Bessemer Alabama on July 11, 1935, daughter to the late Johnny and Daisy' Payne. "Lucymae" called by family and friends relocated to Hartford Connecticut in 1958.
Lucy Mae was a self-employed Daycare Provider she loved children. She loved cooking and planting flowers in her yard. She cooked Thanksgiving Dinner every year until she was unable. Loving to see the joy on everyone's face. She loved colors and would fill her yard with an array of colors that brightened it up. Lucy Mae loved to go to the Casinos with her daughter Joyce and looked forward to visiting the Casinos on Mother's Day. Lucy loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was a dancer and would dance whenever she heard the music. Sam Cook and Jackie Wilson was her favorite artists.
The passing of Lucy will leave a permanent void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memories her Daughter Jesslyn V. Fothergill (Rev. David) of Windsor, David L. Davenport (Judy) of Windsor, Jackie Davenport (Charles) of Bloomfield and Terrance Davenport (Kyla) of Bloomfield. Lucy Mae leaves her grandson, Duran Frazier Davenport and sixteen other grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Lucy was preceded by her daughter Joyce Ann Stevenson and a longtime friend John Carson.
