Luis Alfredo Alvarez of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 78. Luis was born on February 8, 1947 to Carmen Paz & Antonio Alvarez in Guatemala City, Guatemala. After becoming a US Citizen, he enlisted in the US Army. Luis and Maria were pen pals for 5 years, starting before he came to the United States. In 1973, Luis traveled to Mexicali, BC and met Maria in person and the rest is history. Luis and Maria married on May 31, 1975 and were happily married for fifty years. During that time, Luis and Maria went on to have three children, Ricardo, Diana and Alfredo. Luis enjoyed photography, movies and museums. He always enjoyed learning and really loved everything about history. He also liked to make jokes and make his family laugh by dancing randomly. Luis was predeceased by his father, Antonio Alvarez and mother, Carmen Paz and his brother and sisters Antonio, Aracely and Patricia Alvarez. He is survived by his wife, Maria; their sons Ricardo, Alfredo (wife Jamie); their daughter Diana and their two grandchildren, Diego and Sofia. His departure leaves a deep wound and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who crossed paths with Luis. Our family deeply appreciates everyone's support during this difficult time. Gratefully, we are all at peace knowing Luis is now resting with our Heavenly Father.
