With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Luis A. Carrion, who was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, on June 11, 1933, and departed this life on March 5, 2025, at the age of 91. Surrounded by the love of his family in his final days, Luis was a man of immense humor, wisdom, and faith, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
A gifted clothing designer, Luis dedicated his talents to renowned companies such as Macy's, Jones New York, and Sears Roebuck. Beyond his professional achievements, his true passion lay in spreading the gospel and uplifting those around him with his unwavering spirit. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and his kindness and generosity touched all who knew him.
Luis was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Luis A. Carrion Jr. and Helcias Carrion. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosa Carrion, loving daughters Dorka Woodard (Terry David) and Meka Gaither (Howard), cherished grandchildren Quintin Berry Jr., Tabitha Berry, Aly Garcia, Patricia Carrion, Raquel Gaither, Sontia Gaither, and Jeanine Serrano as well as many great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love, faith, and joy.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. We find comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and we will honor his legacy by embracing life with the same passion, faith, and kindness that he so beautifully exemplified.
Rest in peace, dear Luis. You will forever be in our hearts.
A viewing will be held from 9-10am Saturday, March 15, 2025 at John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt. Rose Ave. York. The funeral service will begin at 10am. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.
