This is a rough one, Luis, but I choose to honor you in my own way, and you would expect no less from me. I choose to smile in lieu of mourning, because I believe that you and Gil are at peace and together again on the other side, riding bikes, bombing waves on the jet skis, and playing music. I am grateful that our friendship spanned many decades, and that it includes many fond memories that I cherish. Simple ones, like, every time I open a new box of toothpaste or see a tow truck, I think of you & Gil and I laugh, still...some thirty years later; and that time in the garage when you were speaking in your awful southern accent that only you thought was remotely accurate, albeit entertaining, and Gilbert looked over the rim of his glasses and said, "hey Louie, repeat after me..." Sometimes it's the little things that bring us the most comfort and joy. I will cherish these moments and think of you often with a smile on my face. This is the way I choose to honor your memory, my friend. Until next time, "keep 'er between the ditches." Rest easy, Paw.
