Lula Marie Marr

Lula Marie Marr, 94, of Shallowater, Texas passed away August 7, 2023.
She was born June 8, 1929 in Henrieta, Texas to Clarence and Lula Brown.
Marie graduated from Anton High School in 1946. She met Gus Marr, and married in 1948, where they shared 64 years together. Together they had a daughter, Natile Woodrow in 1951.
Marie was a talented artistic woman. She enjoyed making beaded jewelry, she won several awards at the county fair. She sewed and was a talented cake decorator. She was a dedicated farmer's wife, and helped in everyway she could. Marie & Gus traveled to most of the 50 states in their Airstream, and were part of the Wally Byam Airstream Club. Marie was an ambassador at Vitality Living Shadow Hills who welcomed the residents and introduced them to the social opportunity's available and hosted game night. She was a strong, faithful woman and shared her faith and love of Jesus Christ to everyone she met. She showed Christian movies to the residents at Vitality Living Shadow Hills and played a recording of the Broadview Baptist Church sermon for the residents. She organized bus transportation for those who would like to attend church.
The family would like to thank the staff and Marie's friends at Vitality Living Shadow Hills for their care & friendship over the last 9 years.
Left to cherish her memory include son-in-law, Jeff Woodrow; grandchildren, Timothy (Elizabeth Alexander) Bouton & Debra (Brandon) Alward; nieces, Lynda Kay, Rachel (Gene) Ford, & Rebecca Seagraves; nephews, Cloyce (Karen) Williams, Glen (Barbara) Chapman, & Gene (Elizabeth) Chapman; great-grandchildren, Erin & Alex Wilson & Seth & Evan Alward.
Preceded in death by her husband Gus Marr; daughter, Natile Woodrow; her parents, and sister, Myrtle Chapman.
Memorials are suggested to Broadview Baptist Church.
Family visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Thursday, August 10, 2023, 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 11, 2023 at Broadview Baptist Church with Dr. David Rhoades officiating. Graveside services will follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery.
