Luther Henry Pringle

Pringle – Luther Henry Pringle, age 77, of Bryceville, Florida passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born in Baldwin, Florida on August 16, 1948, to the late Cleveland Pringle, Sr. and Debbie Wilkinson Pringle. Luther was raised in Baldwin and following school was drafted into the United States Army. He honorably served his country in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, bringing home several accolades and awards: 3 Purple Hearts, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Parachutist Badge. Upon completing his service, he returned home and married his best friend and love of his life, Mary Godwin, on May 1, 1970. The couple briefly resided in Jacksonville before settling in Bryceville, Florida, where they built a beautiful life and lovingly raised their three sons. Luther was devoted to his family, his country and his career. From his youth, a foundation of hard work, dedication, and determination was laid and helped pave the path for his bright future. Luther spent many years working in construction. Luther was a man of simple joys-he loved classic Westerns, old country music, and spending peaceful days fishing. His quiet strength, steadfast values, and warm heart left a lasting impression. Luther was greatly loved, will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and in his own words would leave us with, "On to it". He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved son, James Auston Pringle; and siblings, Marie Ann Hodges, Cleveland "Huey" Pringle, Patricia Harden, and Percy Pringle.

Luther is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Godwin Pringle of Bryceville, FL; sons, Robert (Marie) Pringle of Jacksonville, FL and Randall (Keri) Pringle of Ft. White, FL; brother, Larry Pringle of Tennessee; sister, Sonya (Steve) Zabawa of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Matt, Chris, and Jewell Pringle; along with many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Luther's Life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel with Chaplain Jim Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Brandy Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
