Luz Bertha Ayala, 84 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away January 31, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Mrs. Ayala was born May 17, 1940, to Jose Corral and Andrea Anchodo in Aquiles Serdan, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Visitation for Luz will be on Thursday, February 06, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will be held at 6 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 07, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Luz completed her studies as a surgical nursing assistant in Mineral de Plomosas, Mexico in 1957, which included both theoretical and practical training. Luz married the love of her life in 1964 and they became parents to their first born and in 1972, she graduated with a diploma and demonstrated excellence in her nursing studies. In 1975, she earned her diploma after completing her Basic Obstetrics course. After Luz became a wonderful mother to four children she put all her studies aside to raise them and they are forever thankful for the care their mother gave them.
Luz is survived by her three children: Jose Ayala Sr., Justo Ayala Jr., and Sandra Ayala all of Hobbs. Eleven grandchildren: Crystal Landeros, Carlos Ayala Jr., Jose Ayala Jr., Justo Ayala III, Adrian Ayala, Yvette Ayala, Marcus Ayala, Lucien Ayala, Marissa Aranda, Daniel Ayala, and Cesar Ayala. Twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Luz was preceded in death by her husband Justo Ayala Sr., Parents: Jose and Andrea Corral. Son: Carlos Ayala Sr. Sister: Herlinda Navarrete and grandson: Mario Aranda.
Luz will forever be loved and always missed by those who knew her.
Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
