On July 15th, 2025, the world lost a remarkable person. Luz N. Lespier, known affectionately to many as "Lela", departed this life at the age of 73. Born on July 28th, 1951, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Luz grew up to become a beacon of strength, compassion, and loyalty for her family. Her spirit was as radiant as her native island's sunshine, and her courage was as steadfast as its towering palm trees. As Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Luz, in her unique way, made everyone around her feel loved, valued, and important.

Luz was a devoted homemaker, whose love for her family spilled over into every aspect of her life. She was reliable, always there when her loved ones needed her, and she was known for keeping her sons and daughter in line with a firm, but loving hand. Luz had a passion for cooking and cleaning, and her home was always a warm and inviting haven for all who entered it. In her leisure time, Luz enjoyed the simple pleasure of listening to music, watching soap operas, getting lost in the intriguing twists and turns of each storyline. She was also a doting grandmother whose face lit up whenever she spoke of her grandchildren.

Luz is survived by her children, Robert, Albert, Charlie (Jennifer) and Jessenia. She was the loving Abuela of Christopher, Diana, Priscilla, Robert, Liz, Ruben, Jacob, Victoria, Angela, Adrian, Anastasia, Jayden, Josh & Jayce. She was preceded in death by her son Luis, and her parents, Sebastian Lespier and Margarita Lespier Rios.

Relatives and friends may greet her family on Friday, July 25th, 2025 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136. Luz's Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at Magnolia Cemetery.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Luz's loving spirit, her courage, and her steadfast devotion to her family are not lost; they remain with us, a part of everyone she touched.
