Dr. Lyle "Doc" Schultheis, 82 of Naples Florida, passed away on December 6th, 2016 in his home.
Doc was born on November 7th, 1934 in Marietta Ohio; son of the late Thelma (nee Lane) and Lewis Schultheis of Marietta Ohio.
After graduating from Marietta High School in 1952, Lyle received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1959 from The Ohio State University. Doc practiced veterinary medicine in Marietta for over 39 years and proudly served on Washington County Fair Board and as Chairman of The Marietta Memorial Hospital Board. He was a member of Rotary International and The First Congregational Church of Marietta.
Doc is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bertie Schultheis of Naples, FL: son, Brian Christopher Schultheis of Gerhardshofen, Germany; son, Mark Schultheis of Longmont, CO; daughter, Carrie Schultheis of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Erica Marcum of Westerville, OH; grandson, Justin Schultheis of Berlin, Germany; grandson, Hunter Schultheis of Arvada, CO; grandson, Joshua Schultheis of Longmont, CO; sister, Carolyn Smith of Millersberg, OH; and brother, Ronald Schultheis of Morehead City, NC.
A celebration of Docs life is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church in Marietta. Donations in lieu of other remembrances may be made to the Memorial Health Foundation Annual Appeal, PO Box 97, Marietta, OH 45750.
