Mrs. Lynda Lee Brooks Ragan sadly passed away on July 29, 2025, in Rome, Georgia, at the age of 82.
Born on August 24, 1942, in Lindale, Georgia, Lynda was the daughter of the late Albert Brooks and Lillian Melton Brooks. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, John Arthur Ragan; and her two brothers, Cary Brooks and Jackie Brooks.
Lynda was a woman who brought color and warmth to every life she touched. Known for her sassy spirit and unmistakable charm, she had a way of lighting up a room, and making sure you knew she'd arrived. Whether with a wink, a laugh, or a mischievous hand during a round of cards, Lynda kept things lively and full of joy.
Her love for flowers was evident in the way her garden bloomed. Her yard was the pride of the mountain, overflowing with the prettiest flowers, lovingly tended by her hands. She found peace in nature and could often be found watching birds and deer, completely content in their quiet company. Lynda was as creative as she was caring. She loved to read, color, work on puzzles, and crochet-each stitch crafted with heart and soul. If you ever received something handmade by Lynda, you knew it was made with love. A master in the kitchen, her biscuits were the stuff of legend, her turkey and dressing unmatched, and her baked goods always left you wanting more. She was a social butterfly, never missing a chance to connect with family and friends. Whether it was a reunion, a game night, or just a reason to catch up, she brought people together with ease and laughter.
Lynda lived her life with heart and strength. She was a bright soul who gave freely of herself-whether through a home-cooked meal, a lovingly crafted gift, or simply her company. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Those left behind to honor her loving memory are her son, John Bradley Ragan (Kim), her grandson, Andrew Brooks Ragan; her great-grandchildren, Weston Brooks Ragan, Gavin Ragan, and Haven Ragan; her sister, Elizabeth "Ann" Brandon; and her brother, Johnny Brooks (Gerald); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Barry Henderson officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
