Formerly of Saginaw and Houghton Lake
Our loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the age of 70 leaving a void our family cannot fill.
Lynne was born on October 24, 1953, daughter of the late Grace (Wurtzel) and John “Jack” Boyd in Saginaw, Michigan. Lynne graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1971. She earned an Associate Degree in Business from Delta College in May 1973. Lynne married her high school sweetheart James “Jim” Debo in May 1973. Lynne was an avid boater, snowmobiler, and motorcyclist before having children. Lynne and Jim were blessed with their first child, Timothy, who was born in April 1981. Their second child, Mindy, was born in August 1987. Lynne was a devoted mother, and her children were her pride and joy.
After being a stay-at-home mom for 15 years, Lynne began working at Consumers Choice Credit Union in Saginaw. In 2002, after moving to Houghton Lake, she took a position at North Central Area Credit Union where she worked until retiring in 2016. She enjoyed volunteering at the Houghton Lake Senior Community Center and was also a member of the Houghton Lake Lion’s Club where she distributed Lion’s Mints to businesses in Houghton Lake. When not volunteering, Lynne loved cruising around Houghton Lake on their pontoon as well as being the "First lady" of the Trailblazers Snowmobile Club as Jim was the President of the club.
Lynne and Jim sold their home in Houghton Lake in 2018 and spent the next three years living and traveling in their RV, mostly as snowbirds between Michigan and Florida. In 2021 they purchased a home in Rainbow Village in Zephyrhills, FL to spend their winters and in 2022 purchased a home in Pinckney. Lynne enjoyed playing bingo, going to craft shows, rummage sales, flea markets and Goodwill. She loved all things sparkly, palm trees, bunnies and holiday decorations.
Her son Timothy and wife Audra, have two sons, Mason born in 2013 and Miles born in 2015. Lynne loved being a grandmother and adored her two grandsons, they were her two little sweethearts. Her daughter Mindy, who was her best friend, married her husband Jeff in June 2023.
Lynne was preceded in death by her only sibling Robert Boyd, as well as her parents John and Grace Boyd. Lynne will be deeply missed by her husband of almost 51 years, Jim Debo; children Timothy (Audra) and Mindy (Jeff) Hodge, her grandchildren Mason and Miles Debo, as well as many cousins, relatives, and friends.
