Mabel Bryer Fowler

Newburyport, MA - Mabel (Bryer) Fowler, 84, Formerly of Ipswich, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Port Rehabilitation Center in Newburyport. Daughter of the late Harland and Sylvia (Poor) Bryer and widow to the late George Fowler, Mabel was born in Boothbay, Maine where she was raised. In her early adult life, she met and married George Fowler and moved to Ipswich where they settled on Jeffrey's Neck and proceeded to raise 3 children.
Mabel loved working in her home and enjoyed gardening and fishing and would occasionally join George on a clamming or lobstering excursion. A true animal lover, Mabel kept many cats over the years and was known to enjoy the wildlife that often surrounded her home.
Mabel is survived by: Her daughter Brenda (Fowler) Barrows and her husband David Barrows of Meredith, NH; her granddaughter Lisa Cruz and her husband Miguel of Laconia, NH; and her great-granddaughter Luna Cruz of Laconia, NH. She was predeceased by: Her husband of 55 years, George Fowler; her son Freddy Fowler; her daughter Maryann Fowler; her brothers Merrill and Clarence Bryer; and her sisters Beatrice and Margerie Bryer, Priscilla McMaham and Louise Poole.
Visiting hours for Mabel will take place on Monday April 7, 2025 from 11AM to 1PM at the Campbell Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, MA.
