Macy Leeanne Kintner, age 25, of Oblong, Illinois, passed away at 1:28 PM - Friday, February 28, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.
A service celebrating Macy's life will be held at 1:00 PM - Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the First Christian Church, 206 North Range Street, Oblong, Illinois 62449. The burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery in Oblong, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church. The family request you wear pink, Macy's favorite color to honor her. In loving memory of Macy, memorials may be made to the Newton Free Methodist Church and may be mailed to the family at 8575 North 100th Street, Oblong, Illinois 62449. Our beautiful Macy was born on August 8, 1999, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Mark and Lori (Scurlock) Kintner. She was such a lovely, kind, caring soul. Her smile would light up any room she entered, and she was a shining light to the world. Macy's heart and love were as big as the sky, and there wasn't anyone that she wouldn't smile at, give a hug to, or tell how pretty they looked. Macy was also very smart, funny, witty, and completely honest about what she was thinking, and she wasn't afraid to share that (lol).
Macy was a young woman who loved a lot of things and was very talented. She loved shopping trips with her Mama, they always enjoyed their trips together. Music was her soul. She took piano lessons, guitar lessons, cheered, and loved singing and dancing. Macy was an avid writer and would write daily; she would rewrite scripture from the Bible and numerous books that interested her. Macy was thrilled when the weather was nice enough to drive her golf cart, and she put many miles on it (lol)! She enjoyed attending her "BeFriend" group that would meet once a month. Her favorite day of the week was Friday. When her Mom used to work nights, her Dad (who she called "Dadtee") told her she didn't have to take a bath on Friday's, and they named it "Stinky Friday!" They would also have a movie night with popcorn and soda. She loved it and let everyone know if it was Stinky Friday. Macy had her dad wrapped around her little finger. She also loved going to her niece and nephew's ball games, she was their biggest fan!
Macy graduated from Oblong High School in 2018, and after graduating high school, she worked with her mom at her boutique in downtown Oblong which was named after her – Macy Mae's Boutique. Mae was a nickname, so we added it to her first name. She absolutely loved it. Macy and her mom were inseparable. She would often tell her Mama: "You know, not everyone has a store named after them," and she would just smile. Macy was serious about her dusting, unboxing, hanging and tagging clothes, and scanning items, and she enjoyed greeting customers. She would occasionally do Facebook Live broadcasts with her mom and other Macy Mae's girls, and one of her favorite things to do on those "lives" was to blow kisses to the people watching.
Macy was a Christian and was a member of the Newton Free Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois. Church was a priority for her and she testified every Sunday and always asked for prayer for all the children of the world. Macy's church was everything to her, and she also attended Bible study weekly. Macy let everyone around her know about Jesus and how he wants us to live. If she heard something bad, she would tell them, "Don't be saying that" or "Jesus wouldn't like that!"
Macy loved people deeply, but she loved her family most of all. She was exceptionally close to her parents, brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and nieces. Her bond with her brother was unbreakable. He called to talk with her two to three times every day. If Macy wasn't with her family, she would have been with her Nana and she adored her. Their bond was never-ending, as well. The love Macy showed was completely immeasurable. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins blanketed her in so much love, in return, and they always made her feel special by the way they treated her. We all made sure she had special birthdays, parties, and shopping trips, special restaurants to eat at, and movie nights. Macy did a lot of planning herself (lol).
Macy touched so many lives in the short time she was with us. She taught us all a lesson or two on how to live.
We should all live and love like Macy!

Nephew Payton Kintner and Nieces Brooke Kintner and Hallie Kintner
Macy will be loved and remembered by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and special friends.
Macy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Danny and Marilyn Kintner; her maternal grandfather, Gary Scurlock;
a half-brother, Bobby; and many extended family members who loved her deeply.
