A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday August 22, 2025, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gueydan, LA for Ms. Mae Bell Livings Maxile, 97, who passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. The family would like visiting hours to be observed from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM. Reverend Stephen Irudayasamy, HGN will officiate her service and interment will follow at the Gueydan Cemetery in Gueydan, LA. Mae Bell was born in Gueydan, LA on May 18, 1928, to the late Mr. Hector Livings of Carencro, LA and Mrs. Amanda Hebert Livings of Gueydan, LA. A lifetime resident of Gueydan, LA with her late husband, Allen D. Maxile, Mae Bell lived a life full of joy and love. She was a skillful housekeeper and always lent a hand wherever she was needed. She loved people and brought happiness to everyone around her. She was a member of the Loyal Daughters since its creation. Mae Bell loved music and dancing and had a reputation for making delicious lemon pies and pound cakes. She also played a strong and influential part in the upbringing of Karene Broussard. A beloved mother, grandmother and friend whose memory will live on in those she leaves behind. Mae Bell is survived by her son, Kirk Maxile (Emerlina) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; daughters, Donna Maxile and Brenda Martin both of Gueydan, LA; her six grandchildren, Nicole, Damon, Bryden, Allen, Nicholas and Thaddeus; her twelve great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hector Livings and Amanda Hebert Livings; her husband, Allen D. Maxile; her son-in-law, Willie Martin; her sisters, Genevive, Lola and Theresa. Pallbearers chosen to carry Ms. Mae Bell to her place of rest are Nicholas Love, Thaddeus Love, Christopher Brown, Courtney Brown, Bryden Maxile and Damon Maxile. Honorary pallbearers are Kirk Maxile, Horace Maxile, Jason Maxile, Allen Johnson, Jordan Maxile, Keith Moreaux, Tegan Love and Cortrevan Matthews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Matthews Funeral Home GUEYDAN, 514 Second Street Gueydan, LA 70542
