Dolores Stutes Lepretre

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Gueydan, LA for Mrs. Dolores Stutes Lepretre, 93, who passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home surrounded by her family.
Rev. Corey Campeaux will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass.
The family request that the visitation be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 8:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass..
Interment will follow her service at the Gueydan Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ernest Lepretre, Jr.
Dolores was born on August 22, 1931, in Mermentau, LA to Isaac Stutes of Mermentau, LA and Ory Kobleur of Jeanerette, LA. Dolores worked for BellSouth as a telephone operator. As a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Dolores found much joy in her family to whom she held so dearly. She was known for her love of cooking and reading. In her spare time, she also enjoyed her crossword puzzles.
Dolores is survived by her two sons, Steven Lepretre (Kathy) and Isaac Lepretre (Kim); three daughters, Jeanne Saal (Ed), Rebecca Hardee (Richard) and Monica Baker (Gil); her 10 grandchildren, Leah Zehyoue, Erin Vidrine, Stephanie Lepretre, Kegan Lepretre, David Hardee, Daniel Hardee, Allison Lepretre, Zachary Lepretre, Benjamin Baker and Isaac Baker; and 10 great grandchildren, Lane David Hardee, Amorie Hardee, Braxton Meche, John-David Hardee, Eleanor Hardee, Mary-Ellen Hardee, Frances Vidrine, Luke Vidrine, Olivia Lepretre and Evelyn Baker.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Lepretre Jr.; her parents, Isaac Stutes and Ory Kobleur Stutes; two brothers, Huey P. Stutes and Weber Stutes; two sisters, Dorothy Vincent and Norma Guidry.
Pallbearers chosen to carry Dolores to her place of rest will be David Hardee, Benjamin Baker, Isaac Baker, Zachary Lepretre, Kegan Lepretre Lane David Hardee and Braxton Meche.
The family of Mrs. Dolores "Bug" Lepretre would like to thank the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for their outstanding care given to her during her stay.
