Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA for Mr. Shelton Fuselier, 81, who passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his residence in Gueydan, LA surrounded by his family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. His Visitation will resume on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 8:00 AM and last until the time of his service at 12:00 PM.
Interment will follow in the Gueydan Cemetery in Gueydan, LA.
Shelton was born in Kaplan, LA on January 24, 1944, to Roy Fuselier of Elton, LA and Marie Herpin of Kaplan, LA. As a native of Kaplan, LA, Shelton joined the United States Army. He also held a career in construction as a heavy equipment operator and a pipe fitter.
Shelton is survived by his sons, Allen Fuselier of Spring, TX and Sherman Fuselier of Conroe, TX; his daughter, Connie Fuselier of Duson, LA; step daughter, Salena Decker of Jasper, TN; sister, Cheryl Clark; half-sister, Penny Guillory; half-brother, Carl Fuselier; step-brothers, Dallas Breaux, CJ Breaux and Michael Breaux; step-sisters, Susan Breaux and Clara Forrester; twelve grandchildren, Caleb Fuselier, Cameron Fuselier, Austin Fuselier, Bryint Guillot, Megan Fuselier, Staci Hebert, Nicole Guillot, Samantha Perron, Christopher Smith, Jeremy Smith, Pama Davis and Michael Davis; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Atkins Fuselier; his parents, Roy Fuselier and Marie Herpin Adams; one daughter, Cynthia Fuselier; two grandsons, Derek Williams and Colt Touchet; one sister, Beverly Benoit; one brother, Dale Fuselier; one stepsister, Shirley Stokley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home GUEYDAN, LA 514 SECOND STREET GUEYDAN, LA 70542
