Manuel Martinez, a hardworking individual who dedicated his life to the service of others, has sadly passed away on September 14, 2023. Born on July 25, 1950, in Roswell, New Mexico, Manuel grew up in a nurturing environment and went on to graduate from Goddard High School in 1969.
Throughout his remarkable career, Manuel immersed himself in the world of food and hospitality. He owned Mr. Burger of Ruidoso from 2000 to 2016, where he delighted countless diners with his culinary creations and warm hospitality. Prior to that, he was a valued member of Ruidoso Pizza Hut for an impressive span of 25 years. Manuel's unwavering dedication and unwavering work ethic were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Manuel was a man of many passions and interests. A skilled fisherman who found solace by the water's edge, he experienced immense joy as he reeled in one remarkable catch after another. When he wasn't angling for victory on the fishing boat, Manuel could often be found honing his golf skills or engaging in an invigorating workout routine.
While Manuel's career and hobbies were undoubtedly significant parts of his life story, it is his loving nature that truly defined him. Known for his willingness to lend a hand and extend kindness to all those around him, Manuel's heart overflowed with compassion. He approached each day with selflessness and genuine concern for the well-being of others.
One aspect of Manuel's life that brought him immeasurable joy was his family. In a loving union that spanned an incredible 53 years, he was devotedly married to Darlene Martinez. Together, they built a beautiful life full of love and cherished memories. Manuel held steadfastly to the role of a loving father; he leaves behind his children Daniel Martinez, Monica Martinez, and Marissa Xavier. His grandchildren, Gabriel Martinez and Aasa Flores, were a constant source of delight and inspiration to him.
Manuel is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Martinez, as well as his brothers Orlando Martinez and Johnny Martinez. Their spirits undoubtedly welcome him with open arms in the realm beyond. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, children, grandchildren, cousin Robert Cardona and nephews Robert Coronado and Marty Martinez, as well as his niece Melissa Gillaspy.
A Funeral Service will be held to honor Manuel's remarkable life on September 30, 2023. The service will take place at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso located at 341 Sudderth Dr., Ruidoso, New Mexico 88345. The ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM.
Manuel Martinez will be remembered for his extraordinary work ethic, passionate pursuits, and most importantly, his boundless love for those closest to him. As we reflect on his life well-lived and bid farewell to a cherished individual, let us carry forward the lessons he taught us – to approach each day with kindness and compassion. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all those who loved Manuel during this difficult time of loss. May he rest in everlasting peace.
