Mara Krawtzow, 56 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 in Gainesville, Florida afier a long battle with cancer. She was born in Tamuning, Guam on November 15, 1968 to Patsy Jane Krawtzow. Mara came to Washington, Oklahoma in the late l 970's where she grew up with her new family and attended the Washington school system. Later in life Mara moved to Central Florida and resettled with work and her family. She worked many years for a local security company taking pride in helping protect her neighbors.
Mara was an avid reader, loving to read crime/mystery and fantasy books. She loved food, enjoyed cooking and eating her native Filipino dishes. She was always looking for a new restaurant to try, even though the food she prepared usually tasted better. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, motorcycles, love for her dogs, animals and enjoyed watching her ghost stories. Her last loving memories were in the Colorado Rockies. Her dream was to see the beautiful snow-covered Roeky Mountains whieh she enjoyed earlier this year with her family.
Mara had quirks, was stubborn like most Scorpios but was very compassionate taking in stray animals and a few humans too over the years.
Mara is survived by her mother: Patsy Jane; brothers: Peter, Jacob and Alexay; sisters: Kathy and Lydia; nieces: Sophia, Cynthia, Carmen and Amanda; nephews: Nicholas, Andrew; Uncle: Lawrence Knopf and his children Kathy, Jeffrey and Walter; Great niece: Braelyn, Elisha, Lileigh, Great nephew: Landon, Liam, Mason, Ryan, Kayden; Brother in Law Brian and other relatives. In Florida she is survived by her partner: Jennie Spalti, step children James, Jasmine, Jasmine's two boys and bonus son Shawn.
She is preceded in death by her father: Jacob; brother Michael; niece Kristina and grandparents: Mercedes and David Knopf.
Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church located at 16900 Cypress Rosehill Road, Cypress, Texas 77429. Reverend Stavrophor Dejan Tiosavljevic.
