Dr. Marc Alan Clachko, 79, of
Wyckoff, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025.
Marc is survived by his beloved wife, Gayle (née Weisman), and their three children: Jenifer Kaplan (Jeffrey), Jeffrey (Betsy), and Jessica Goldstein (Matt). He was the proud and loving grandfather of Jordan, Ali, Danny, Benji, Oliver, Sam, Teddy, Will, and Lexie. He is also survived by his sister Jan Paper (Lew). Marc was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Miriam (Sachs).
Born and raised in
Teaneck, NJ Marc graduated from Teaneck High School in 1963, where he distinguished himself as an Eagle Scout, a standout football and track athlete, and an honor-roll student. He went on to attend Lafayette College in
Easton, PA-an experience made especially meaningful by the family legacy shared with his father before him and later his two daughters.
After earning his degree, Marc continued on to Boston University School of Medicine, where he met Gayle, then a student at Simmons College. He completed his general surgery internship at Columbia Presbyterian and his OB/GYN residency at Mount Sinai.
In 1975, Marc joined his father in private practice at Bergen OB/GYN Associates, beginning a long and devoted affiliation with Hackensack University Medical Center. His leadership and commitment to the medical community were recognized when he was appointed President of the Medical Staff in 2001 and Chairman of the Medical Board in 2002.
Marc was profoundly proud of his 44-year career as a physician, during which he delivered over 4,000 babies and cared for generations of families with compassion, dedication, and skill.
He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his lifelong passion for medicine, and the countless lives he touched both personally and professionally.
