Marcella Ann "Fakler" Westerberg

Marcella Ann (Fakler) Westerberg passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at All Saints Senior Living in Shakopee. She was 94 years old.

Marcella was born on June 6, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, the only child of Victor and Nellie (Caroon) Fakler. At a young age, the family relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Marcella was raised. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and then attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a degree in Home Economics. She met the love of her life at the Naval Reserve Base in Minneapolis, and on January 5, 1963, she was united in marriage to Allen Westerberg.

Marcella was a dedicated homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Al enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time together.

Marcella is preceded in death by her husband, Allen, who died October 13, 2019; and her parents, Victor and Nellie Fakler. Marcella is survived by her children, son, Richard (Holly) Westerberg; daughter, Ann (Peter) Conrad; son, Joe (Laura) Westerberg; her grandchildren, Jonathan (Courtney), Molly; Matthew (Natalie), Christie, Emma; Bethany, and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Liam, James; Ruby, Easton, and Jameson.

A time for family and friends to gather and celebrate Marcella's life is planned for Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, from 4 PM to 7 PM, hosted at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Avenue East, Shakopee, MN. The family will lay Marcella to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, next to her husband Allen, privately.
