Marcus Harrison Obituary

Marcus Lamar Harrison, affectionately known as “Markee’D,” was born on December 7, 1984, in Wilmington, Delaware. He went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2025, in Petersburg, Virginia. He was the beloved father of Marcus Harrison Jr., Shawn Harrison, and Mariana Harrison.

Marcus was a graduate of Great Valley High School in Malvern, PA. After graduation, he obtained a commercial truck driving license. Marcus trusted in God and lived a life full of purpose, laughter, and love.

He was known for his infectious smile that lit up every room and his endless sense of humor—he was a jokester through and through. He was a protector at heart, always looking out for those he loved. He had a deep passion for basketball, fishing, and spending time with his children. He was the kind of person you could always call when you needed to talk—he just knew how to lift your spirits or make you laugh, no matter what.

Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Rachael Harrison; paternal grandparents, Richard Delfyette and Joyce Hunt; his aunt Betty Hunter; and uncles James Hunter, Vernon Hunter, and Willis Boney.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three beloved children: Marcus Jr., Shawn, and Mariana Harrison. He is also survived by his father, Eric Delfyette Sr. (Michelle Delfyette), and his mother, Iris Harrison Garnett (Timothy Garnett); his siblings Erica Harrison (Robert Riddick), Erin Harrison, Amy Delfyette, and Eric Delfyette Jr.; as well as his step-siblings Tim Jr., Donate, and Elijah Garnett also mourn his passing. The loving mothers of his children, Thelma Meeks and Erikka Loper.

Marcus’s memory will also live on through his aunts: Rose Hunter, Yvonne Austin, Phyllis Boney, and bonus aunt Denise Lloyd; his uncles: Howard Harrison (Vera), Les, and Michael Carey. Marcus is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.
