Margaret Ellen (Kliewer) Broadhurst, 82, took her nursing skills to Heaven on April 27, 2025. She was born in Fairview, OK, on December 17, 1942, to Fritz & Bertha Kliewer.
She graduated from the Enid, OK, Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 then practiced clinical nursing for 20 years then hospital Quality Assurance and Risk Management for 32 years. She also earned a BS degree then retired from nursing in 2014.
She married Carl Broadhurst of Excelsior Springs, MO, August 24, 1963. She traveled with him to his military assignments in OK, MO, IN, MO, WA, IN, HI, NJ, IN, FL, NC. For 30 years, she performed flawlessly one of the toughest jobs there is: an Army wife. In Hawaii she earned her private pilot’s certificate and flew between the islands. She traveled to Israel, Greece, Republic of Turkey, Republic of South Korea, Macau, China, and Kenya. She was a member of the DAR.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Frederick & Bertha (Corbly) Kliewer of Fairview, OK. She is survived by her husband, her daughters Eileen (& husband Ray) and Sandra (& husband Tim & their children Bethany, Zachary, & Hannah), brother Herb (& wife Mary).
She will be interred in Burns, KS, cemetery, the resting place of her mother’s great-grandparents.
