Margaret Crystal Campbell (Margie) maiden name Smith. Born July 1, 1958 in Los Angeles, California, and died at home on March 29, 2025 in Sherwood, Oregon of natural causes.
Margie grew up in Woodland Hills, CA where she graduated from Taft High School before attending United States International University in San Diego, CA for a BFA in Dance. Margie married John Campbell in 1981. They lived for 7 years in Santa Monica, CA before moving to Wes Hills, CA and then Murrieta, CA in 1990, where they raised their three boys, Ian, Forrest and Troy. Margie, John and Forrest moved to Sherwood, Oregon in 2020, after meeting her birth mom Wenda Hall, and a brother James, and sister Kim, who she had never met before. It was a very nice moment for all who were there. Troy Campbell moved to Oregon in the summer of 2024 to be closer to his mom.
Besides ballet, jazz, and tap dance, Margie was an accomplished juggler, uni-cyclist, and children's entertainer with Compliments and Complaints in Temecula, CA. Other hobbies and likes included crocheting, going to concerts, and dogs and cats, but especially cats. There was rarely a moment when Margie would see a cat in a window or just passing through the neighborhood when she wouldn't blurt out in a childlike voice "Kitty!" It was part of her sweet charm. She was also great fan of the Beatles, Jethro Tull, The Police, Weird Al, Star Trek, Beverly Hills 90210, Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives, and any movie or show having to do with dance.
Margie was preceded in death by her oldest son, Ian, her parents Alberta and Doug Smith, and her birth mother, Wenda Hall. She is survived by her husband John, and her sons Forrest Campbell, and Troy Campbell and extended family members.
There will be a memorial service held for Margie on April 27 at 1 PM at Cedar Creek Church, located at 21901 SW Sherwood, Blvd., Sherwood, Oregon near the Sherwood Senior Community Center.
