Margaret Carnelia Ennis, affectionately known as Maggie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at her home in Parsonsburg, MD, on August 21, 2025. Born in Virginia on June 4, 1957, to the late Floyd Jones and Margaret McCullough, Maggie's warm presence and kind spirit were a blessing to all who knew her.
Maggie's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She was the beloved wife of Randy Ennis, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Maggie was a nurturing mother to her daughter Stephanie Tubbs and son Phil Lewis, and a guiding light to her stepdaughters, Hilary Ennis (David Adkins) and Taylor (Mark Passwaters). She took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Hunter Seefried, Graham, Declan, and Rhys Lewis, and step-grandchildren Jensen & Jenna Cockey, Isabelle & Caroline Passwaters.
Maggie's family circle was vast, including her sister Linda Wilkerson (Burt), sister Shearby Shrewsbury, brother Mac McCullough (Arlean), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers James Osborne and Jackie McCullough, and sisters Edna Duddy and Mary Lewis. The connections she forged with each family member were deep and enduring, and her memory will continue to be honored by all those she loved.
An alumna of Mardela High School, Maggie's work ethic and community involvement were exemplified through her long-standing association with Perdue. Her contributions were not only of labor but also of heart, as she brought her loving and friendly nature to the workplace every day.
A Christian by faith, Maggie lived her life with kindness and grace, attributes that were felt by all who crossed her path. Her interests were simple yet deeply rooted in the joys of everyday life. Maggie had a fondness for watching crime and investigation shows, a hobby that allowed her a glimpse into the mysteries of the human experience. She was also an avid collector of coins, finding beauty and history in each piece she acquired. Her love for country décor reflected her appreciation for the simpler, more rustic charms of life.
Maggie's legacy is one of compassion and friendship. She was the embodiment of love, always extending a helping hand and a warm smile to those around her. Her departure has left a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
As we say farewell to Margaret Carnelia Ennis, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a woman well-loved. Maggie's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we continue to give, just as she generously did throughout her beautiful life.
