Margaret Fleck Obituary

She was born on July 4, 1927 in Louisville, one of six children to Fred P. Reker, Sr. and Anna Mae Hackmiller Reker. Her siblings, Mary Mayer, Evelyn Gammel, Fred Reker, Jr. and Eugene Reker all precede her in death.
Margaret was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Louisville.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she is also preceded by her husband, Frank B. Fleck, Sr. They married on Saturday, November 6, 1948, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and were together for 50 years at the time of his passing.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Delores VanArsdale (Greg-dec); six sons, Frank, Jr., Dennis (Terry), Gary (Lisa), Allen (Susan), David and Brian Fleck; 14 grandchildren, Megan VanArsdale, Myra Moody (Brad) and Jenna Brayton (Nick); Tyler Fleck (Courtney) and Travis Fleck; Anna Fleck, Bradley Fleck (Alyssa), Paul Fleck (Eliza) and Daniel Fleck; Dakota Fleck; Ryan Cecil (Tiffany) and Jodi Cummings (Troy); and Sedona and Maya Fleck. She also leaves to cherish her memory 15 great-grandchildren, William, Emma Grace and Ella; Haley, Hanna and Beau; Caroline, Sullivan and Miriam; Noah, Leah, Bennett, Brooks, Harlowe and Rowan; and her beloved sister, Jane Allen.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, Prospect with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. Margaret will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Margaret's love and dedication to Habitat for Humanity, please direct memorial gifts to them at 1620 Bank Street, Louisville 40203 or to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
