GRAMMATICO, MARGARET M. (née Willaert) passed away September 6, 2023 at 96 years of age. Loving wife of the late John for 49 years; cherished companion of Andy Grillo; dear mother of Gail (Ed) Cain and Scott Grammatico; grandmother of Melanie Cain, Adam Cain, and Scott Grammatico, Jr.; great grandmother of Christi, Violet, Ivy, and Lillyanna; sister of Donald Willeart; preceded in death by 4 siblings; favorite aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Detroit to Edmond and Pauline (née Ryes) Willaert, Margaret would be the first generation born in U.S. She and her husband, John raised their family in Detroit and Margaret retired from Michigan National Bank after 30 years of service. Upon retirement, Margaret and John moved to Harrison, Michigan. Margaret was always on the move. She was an active member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church; member of Moose Lodge; and Fraternal Order of the Eagles; and enjoyed Bingo fund raisers. She was always doing something. A movie buff and avid reader, Margaret was good with a joke and always had a one liner up her sleeve. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother she will be forever missed for her high energy and the love she had for her family, friends, and life. Funeral service will be Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Private burial White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 PM. Rosary Sunday 7 PM. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
