Margaret B Hollenshead, 112 years of age, of Chanute passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Credo Senior Living. Margaret was born on April 22, 1911 in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Lena Berthot.
Margaret graduated from Chanute High School with honors and attended Emporia State Teachers College. She graduated and later obtained a master's degree in music. She was the Supervisor of Music for the School System in Chanute and taught four generations of students.
Margaret married Henry Howard Hollenshead in Norman Oklahoma in June of 1935.
Margaret was active in St Cecilia, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers and Shakespeare Club. She was an occasional speaker for the Historical Society.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann Cobb of Kansas City, Missouri, her son, Hugh Hollenshead of Chanute Kansas, daughter, Lynn Saylor of Boca Raton, Florida. and Rob and Lisa Doran her Grandson and his wife. There are several other Grandchildren and a few Great Grandchildren too!
A Service will be announced at a later date by the Family.
