Gregory Ray Bryan went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 7, 2025, at the age of 78 in Fredonia, Kansas. He was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 21, 1947, to parents Elmer and Irene Bryan of Neodesha, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by both parents, his sister Yvonnia Stubbs, his young son Charles Bryan and his daughter Debbie Pruitt.
He is survived by his wife Debra (Candy) Bryan, daughter Cynthia and husband Jonathan Haffener, son Shawn Bryan and daughter Stephanie Pruitt. His grandchildren include Avram, Kyra, and Zane Haffener.
After graduating as a Blue Streak from Neodesha High School in 1965, Greg went on to take some college courses before leaving his studies to start a family. After having Cynthia and Shawn he was later divorced.
He moved to Texas City, Texas, in the early seventies to pursue a long career as a machinist at Monsanto Chemical Plant (later Sterling Chemicals). Mr. Bryan retired in May of 2002.
He wedded his surviving wife Candy on June 20, 1994. This date was special to him as it was the anniversary of his parents. Greg and Candy were happily married for 31 years.
The couple resided in Texas until 2004 when they relocated back to Greg’s hometown of Neodesha. They lived there until his passing at Morningstar Care Home in the neighboring community of Fredonia.
Some of Greg’s hobbies involved woodworking, fishing, reading Western novels, and playing card games on his computer. Throughout his lifetime he always had a love of history and mathematics.
On Tuesday August 19, 2025, at 10:00am, Gregory Bryan will be laid to rest at a graveside service at Neodesha Cemetery with Steven Foraker officiating.
