Margaret Lenora Lawrence Kirkpatrick was born September 10, 1942 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Reuben Lawrence, Sr. and Vannorris Givens Lawrence. Margaret entered in to eternity on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Margaret affectionately known as "Peggy" was educated in the Nashville Davidson Public schools and was a 1960 graduate of Pearl High School. She continued her education by attending Tennessee State University where she received her Bachelors and Master’s Degree.

Margaret accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was united with Corinthian Baptist Church as a youth. She later united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1964. Margaret was a Choir Director and Musician at Mt. Zion for over 25 years.

She married the love of her life Luther Cullom Kirkpatrick. They enjoyed over 50 years of marital bliss.

Margaret was employed for over 36 years with Metro Schools as a 2nd grade teacher. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, playing Bridge, traveling, watching Columbo, gardening, playing the piano, singing, ceramics, fishing, watching Titan Football and spoiling her grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben, Sr. and Vannorris Lawrence, brother, Charles Lawrence, Sr., sister, Dorothy Sanders and her husband, Luther Kirkpatrick.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters, Loree Beard and Leah (Cedric) Williams, four grandchildren, Arien, Elijah, Gabriel Howse and London Williams, two brothers, Reuben (Gertrude) Lawrence, Jr. and William (Mary) Lawrence, one sister in law, Mildred Kirkpatrick King, one uncle, Walter Pope and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, church members, neighbors and friends.
