Margaret "Margie" Schilz, 65, of Ogallala, passed away on February 7, 2024, at her home.
Margie was born on November 12, 1958, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Pete and Fanny (Ortega) Jimenez. She grew up and attended school in Brule.
On November 15, 1975, Margie married Bill D. Schilz, and their union was blessed with two children, Tina and Billy Jr.
Margie devoted her life to taking care of her children. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, sharing her love for playing games and the lake with them. She was also known for her competitive spirit; whether playing sand volleyball or family games, Margie loved to win. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed the simple pleasure of tending to her plants. Above all, she was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends, often hosting gatherings where she delighted in feeding everyone.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson, Emric James Demilt, and her brothers, Stephen & Tim Jimenez.
Survivors include her children, Billy Schilz of Lincoln, Tina Schilz of Lincoln; grandchildren, Izzy Roze-Marie Demilt, Marcella Jacquelyn Schilz, and Hannah Rhea Schilz; great-grandson Roman Sanchez; former spouse, Bill Schilz of Ogallala; siblings, Pete (Marie) Jimenez of Clarksville, TN, Dora (Adam) Jara of San Angelo, TX, Emerald (Tim) Lauts of Atchison, KS, Art Jimenez of Lincoln, Frances (Mike) Legler of Columbus, Arnold (Molly) Jimenez of Albany, OR and Leonard Jimenez of Lincoln; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Margie's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
A memorial book signing will be on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 3-5 pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala. Private family inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.
