Margaret Shane Obituary

Margaret Marie Shane, 91, of Dalton, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 22, 2025.
Margaret was a lifelong resident of Dalton/Mt. Eaton area always surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Dalton to Duane and Mabel (Boughman) Frantz on April 2, 1934
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Shane; brothers, Larry (Jeannie) Frantz and William Frantz. She is survived by children, Jeff (Shelly) Weirich of Kidron and & Lori Weirich (Dave) Troyer, Mt. Eaton; deeply loved grandchildren, Josh (Erin) Weirich of Seattle WA, Niki (Dave) Chave of Granville OH, Jacob (Amy) Weirich of Wooster OH, Paige (Peter) Lehman of Mt Eaton OH and Colby (Angelina) Troyer of Wooster OH; along with nine awesome great grandchildren, Peyton and Eliet Weirich of WA, Lofton and Rhys Chave of Granville, Bohdi, Briggs and Rocco Weirich of Wooster, and Maxwell and Hank Lehman of Mt Eaton; siblings, Glen (Barb) Frantz and Nancy Blacksten, both of Dalton; a sister-in-law, Carol Frantz of Brewster; and many greatly loved nieces and nephews.
Margaret was always filled with laughter and joy. She loved having parties, playing cards and board games. Her kindness, generosity and infectious laughter will be greatly missed.
As per Margaret's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral held. A private family/friends gathering will be determined later. Margaret will be laid to rest beside husband, Robert Shane at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
