Margaret Younger Tidwell, 82 of Summit, MS passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her residence in Summit, MS. She was born Monday, July 12, 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Johnston Station Cemetery in Summit, Mississippi. Dr. Larry LeBlanc and Tim King will officiate. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was a woman whose life was a vibrant tapestry woven with deep devotion, tireless service, and boundless artistic passion. She was devoted to the love of her life, Don, for 61 years and to her children. Above all else, everything was about family. She loved being surrounded by her family. If family wasn't included it wasn't done. Sunday dinners, baking and decorating Christmas cookies with the grandchildren, or making candy and wreaths with her daughter, all was done with her family in mind.

Her faith was a guiding light, and she was exceptionally active in her church. She shared her spirit and knowledge as a dedicated Sunday school teacher and served as the head of the children's department. As the librarian at her church, she brought many smiles to children of all ages as she helped them explore their imaginations through books.

Beyond the church walls, Margaret was a central figure in her community. She was a proud member of DAR (Daughters of American Revolution). Displaying a love for the stage, she was also an active member of the Pike County Little Theater. Margaret's talents with sewing and painting helped to create magic and wonder with the theater. She loved sharing her passion for many things with others.

Margaret being a woman of many talents, she possessed practical skills in sewing and crocheting, and found tranquility in gardening. Margaret shared her love for gardening and flowers with the Summit Gardening Club. However, her truest and greatest love was art.

Channeling her creativity and her heart for children, she developed a unique art form she affectionately called "Painted Creations." This involved building pieces of children's furniture into extraordinary, imaginative works of art. Each piece was designed to bring joy and wonder to the world, leaving a lasting legacy of beauty.

She was preceded in death by her sons, James Daren Tidwell, Jonathan Byran Tidwell; father, John Edward Younger; mother, John Emma Demoss Younger; sisters, Eleanor Younger Sheffer (John), Georgia Anna Durrett.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie Don Tidwell of Summit, MS; sons, Michael Joseph Tidwell (Rhae) and Richard Nathaniel Tidwell; daughter, Melissa Beth Tidwell Holeman (Raymond); brother, John Edward Younger, Jr (Karen); sister, Phoebe Demoss Harris (Billy).

Pallbearers will be Chris Tidwell, Brandon Holeman, Zack Tidwell, Cole Tidwell, Devin Holeman, Ryan Tidwell, and C.J. Tidwell.

Honorary pallbearer will be Andy Holeman.
