Margarett McArthur Blake, 76, died peacefully, yet on her terms at home, Monday, January 22, 2024 in St. George, Utah.
Margarett was born June 16, 1947 to Tom and Fae McArthur in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was an active and devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Through her life she served many positions within the church. Margarett loved reading or listening to the scriptures on a daily basis and serving those that she could.
Margarett loved the outdoors, a good book, cross stitching, hunting for arrowheads, exploring old mining areas, spending time with her family, serving the lord and a cold diet pepsi.
Margarett's smile, kindness, and compassion towards those in need will be truly missed by all who knew her. She married the love of her life, Richard Blake, August 14, 1965 in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity. Where they went on to create a sarcastic, fun-loving family.
Margarett is survived by her loving husband Richard, her children: Juliana (Mike) Laythorpe; Terry (Kim) Blake; Jaclyn (Bud) Rosenbruch; and Rochelle (Jim) Westover, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Tom (Allison) McArthur; Gwen (Dave) Woodbury; Harv (Kay) McArthur; Darrell McArthur; Rich (Meg) McArthur; and Jeanie (Robin) Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Julie Schmutz; and granddaughter Torey Ann Blake.
The funeral is scheduled for 11 AM on January 26 at the Kanab Stake Center (20 W Center) in Kanab, Utah. A viewing will precede the funeral services at 10 AM at the Stake Center. Interment will take place following the services at the Kanab Cemetery (26 North 100 East). The luncheon will take place immediately after services are held at the Stake Center. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Margarett's life. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be given through https://everloved.com to help support funeral costs.
