Margarita Velasquez, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1938 to Maria and Maximo Morales. Margarita was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Velasquez, and her son, Rene Velasquez.
Margarita's love for her family was evident in everything she did. She loved nothing more than cooking homemade meals for her loved ones, and her kitchen was always filled with the delicious aromas of her culinary creations. She also had a passion for sports, and she loved watching cowboys and spurs games. Margarita was a generous spirit and always looked forward to handing out candy to trick-or-treaters during Halloween.
Margarita's beloved yorkie, Charlie Rose, was her constant companion, and the two were inseparable. Charlie was always by Margarita's side, providing her with love and companionship until the very end.
Margarita had a deep passion for helping people, and she spent many years volunteering her time and resources to various organizations. She had a heart of gold and always went out of her way to help anyone in need.
Margarita will be remembered for her love of dancing, and it was a hobby that brought her great joy throughout her life. She had a natural grace and rhythm and loved moving to the beat of the music.
Margarita's family was her greatest joy, and she will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Margarita's family will receive guests on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Castillo Funeral Home for visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary service at 6:30 pm. A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, May 12, 2023, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church at 10:00 am, followed by burial at San Fernando II Catholic Cemetery.
Margarita's family would like to express their appreciation to everyone who has reached out with condolences and support during this difficult time. Margarita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and compassion.
