Margie Ann Hamilton, a cherished sister, friend, and longtime resident of Jackson County, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, at the age of 75 in Marianna, FL. Born on March 16, 1949, in Grand Ridge, FL, she was the beloved daughter of the late Evelyn and Rosie Lee Hare Hamilton.
A proud 1967 graduate of Grand Ridge High School, Margie furthered her education by obtaining an associate degree from Chipola Jr College. She then dedicated her career to serving the State of Florida in various capacities in Tallahassee and Gainesville.
Margie's deep faith was evident through her membership at Providence Baptist Church. She carried her love for reading into her devotion, with her Bible being her most treasured book.
Her generous spirit will be fondly remembered by those who knew her; she was not only a good friend but also a dedicated caretaker to many. Margie's passing leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire.
She is survived by her siblings, Richard E. Hamilton, Rev. Johnny Hamilton, Thelma Smith, and Lillie Newsome as well as numerous other extended family members. Margie now joins in eternity her parents and her siblings, Kelly Hamilton, Harold Hamilton, and Ruth Blair, who preceded her in death.
Margie's life was an example of caring and service to others. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graveside service for Margie will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM Central Time in Carpenter Cemetery.
