Mari Cecelia Fox, 67, of Stow, unexpectedly passed away on April 13, 2024. Mari was born in Defiance, Ohio on November 6, 1956 and was raised in Akron by her parents, the late Robert and Violet Hale. Mari retired from Akron Children's Hospital after over 40 years as a radiologist. She was a woman of strong faith and love for Jesus. She will always be remembered for her generous spirit and thoughtfulness. She would always stock up on your favorite food and drinks or brought things over to the house because she saw something at the store she thought you would like. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and reading. One of her biggest joys in life was being Mimi to her grandchildren, Delaney and Brayden. She was a staple at Delaney’s dance competitions loudly cheering her on. She came to see Brayden football and soccer games. She always made it a point to call her grandchildren to talk about school, their extracurricular activities, or just to see if they had a good day. She had a great sense of humor and had the best one liners. She was also a wonderful mother, sister, and friend. She was there for anyone at anytime. Always there to help people through the dark times and celebrating during the good times. She never missed an opportunity to let the people in her life know how much she loved them.
In addition to her parents, Mari was preceded in death by her brothers, James Christian, Willard Christian, and Edward Christian; and sister, Sharon Christian. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mike Adkins; grandchildren, Delaney Adkins and Brayden Adkins; sisters, Sally (Jim) Kochenour and Debra (Bill) Grigson; brother, Robert "Dave" Hale Jr.; sisters-in-law, Dawn Christian, Sheila Christian, and Susan Kraft; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Beckett and Charlie. Mari also leaves countless friends, including her best friend, Maria Slayton.
A celebration of Mari's life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm with visitation for one hour prior at Riverwood Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Ave, Kent, Ohio 44240.
