Maria Rosaria Barresi

Age 84, of New Lenox, IL, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Baldassare and Dorothea (née Sutera) Barresi.

A devoted mother, she is survived by her loving children, Jennifer (Brian) Adcock and Dorothea (Edgar) Alicea. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Florence (Joe) Cicino. Maria was a proud and adoring grandmother to Vinny Cicino and Kayla (Ernie) Ramos and a devoted great-grandmother to Chase Alicea, Xavier Ramos, and Briella Ramos. She was a dear sister to Frances (Charles) Ruoff and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Maria dedicated many years of service to Harmon Associates before retiring. She found joy in spending time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories with those she loved. Her kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Maria’s name may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan, IL.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, beginning with prayers at 9:15 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan, IL.

Maria will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Queen of Angels Catholic Cemetery in Winter Park, FL.

She will be forever in our hearts.
