Maria Ann DeSanctis, 55, of Slatington, passed away on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus. She was the beloved daughter of Vincent J. and Sophie M. (Chajkiewicz) DeSanctis of Slatington. Maria was a 1987 graduate of Northern Lehigh High School. She worked as a manager for a truck wash company for many years, eventually opening her own truck polishing business. She was a faithful member of Assumption B.V.M. Roman Catholic Church of Slatington. In addition to her parents,
Maria will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Theresa, wife of Kyle Smith of Kutztown, and Frances, wife of David Getz of Slatington. She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent H. DeSanctis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Assumption B.V.M. RCC, 649 W. Washington St, Slatington, PA 18080. A viewing will be held the night prior, Wednesday, October 2nd, from 6-8 PM at Harding Funeral Home, Inc., 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington, PA 18080. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maria’s name to the Assumption BVM Memorial Fund and mailed to the church’s address above.
