Maria Juanita Hernandez, 65, was born March 28, 1960, in Gregory, Texas. Maria Juanita entered her eternal rest on August 13, 2025, in West Jordan, Utah. Juanita was a tough-love kind of mom, yet she showed love by always providing aid and support for her children, grandchildren, and even a complete stranger when in need. Her accomplishments were but not limited to working at the Centro de Familias as a social worker/teacher, as well as assisting the parents and community in her tenure at Centro de la Familias. Juana, as most called her, enjoyed shopping, crafting, praying for her children and grandchildren, at one point she would even do her own oil change on her vehicle, she created beautiful floral arrangements for all occasions, and so much more….
Maria Juanita is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria Lopez Gutierrez, and grandmother, Maria Navarro Martinez. She is survived by her children- Sandra Aleman (Fernando), Daniel Rivera Jr. “Chucho”, Adriana Garcia-Avalos, Micheal Rivera, Paul Rivera, Jennifer Rivera, David Rivera, Ramon Rivera, and Edward Rivera (Mirella), 50 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, with a rosary service happening beforehand at 10:30 AM. You may visit with the family at a viewing on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
