Maria Lea Cavazos Izaguirre, 81, of Granbury, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, August 16, 2025.

She was born on March 2, 1944, in Llera, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Enrique Cavazos Durán and Regina Izaguirre Piñero.

Maria Lea lived a life filled with faith, love, and joy. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and loved reading her Bible and singing gospel songs-especially when she wanted to get her message across, she would sing a little louder. Her faith in Christ never wavered.

Beyond her faith, Maria Lea had many passions. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dancing in her younger years, and had a love for motorcycles. She also wrote beautiful poems and found joy in the ocean, often traveling to beaches that inspired her spirit. Horses brought her happiness as well, and she was always full of laughter, song, and dance before her illness.

Above all, Maria Lea was a devoted mother, grandmother, and daughter. She cared deeply for her children and parents, giving of herself in every way possible. Her nurturing heart and joyful spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Mario & Claudia Cavazos, Enrique Ciria Cavazos, and Roberto & Valerie Rodríguez; and by her cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Isaac, Robert, Alizzay, Kristian, and Caleb.

Maria Lea is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Enrique Cavazos Durán and Regina Izaguirre Piñero; her siblings, José Isabel, Concepción, Guadalupe, and Felipa Cavazos; and her beloved son, Isaac Rodríguez Jr.

Her laughter, faith, and song will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends.
