Born in Springfield, she was the beloved daughter and youngest child of the late Domenic J. & Frances (Camerota) Pellegrino.
Maria grew up in Springfield, and graduated from Classical High School. She attended Bay Path College and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from American International College. She taught business courses at High School of Commerce in Springfield until her retirement.
Maria loved to travel, had a fondness for animals, and enjoyed cinema, live theater, and the arts.
She is survived by her sister, Ann (Pellegrino) Poliak of Springfield, brothers, Anthony J. (Geraldine) and Joseph A. (Kathleen) Pellegrino, also of Springfield, and 8 nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her niece, Lisa Poliak and nephew, Matthew Pellegrino.
Family and friends are invited to Marias 11:30 a.m. Liturgy of Christian burial on Monday, July 8th at Holy Name Church. Marias burial at St. Michaels Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers kindly consider a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
