Maria Isabel Ramos Huerta, lovingly known as Isabel, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in her home, surrounded by her devoted family, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 83 years old. Born on January 8, 1942, in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, Isabel lived a life defined by faith, family, friends and resilience.
In the late 1960s, Isabel and her beloved husband, Urbano Huerta Mendez, embarked on a journey of hope and opportunity, moving to the United States to build a future for their family. Settling into their new life, Isabel devoted herself wholeheartedly to her role as a homemaker. Her warmth and care created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Urbano preceded her in death in 2010, leaving a legacy of love that Isabel carried forward.
A devout Catholic, Isabel's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found joy and solace in her connection to the church and carried its teachings in her heart, living a life of kindness, compassion, and devotion. Isabel also found delight in music and cherished the voices of Elvis Presley and Pedro Infante, whose songs often filled her home and brought her happiness.
Isabel was a gregarious and social person who had a gift for connecting with others. Whether chatting with friends or reaching out to those who didn't share her language, she formed bonds wherever she went. Community was deeply important to Isabel, and she cultivated a wide circle of friends who became like family. Her warm and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met, creating a legacy of love that extended far beyond her own family.
Isabel's greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her five devoted daughters, who carry forward her legacy of strength and compassion. She also leaves behind her 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren who were the light of her life and a source of endless joy. Isabel's love, wisdom, and nurturing spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her.
