Maria Nazareth Roldan was born in Marquetalia, a small town in Caldas, Colombia, on June 2, 1941, and passed away in Nassau County, NY, on January 2, 2025. She was known as Maria Nazareth Gonzalez Pineda at birth. Her parents were Jose Jesus Gonzalez and Maria Graciela Pineda. She was one of 21 pregnancies (7 of those were miscarriages) and 15 full term babies. She leaves behind 5 of them who remain alive (Aleyda, Rita, Leoncio, Angel, y Jose Jesus). She also leaves behind 2 children, Ana Marcela and Jose Fernando, as well 4 grandchildren (Joshua, Diamond, Jordan, and Branden), and 2 great grandchildren (Sincere and Serenity Nazareth), in addition to all her nieces, nephews, son-in-law, and extended family and friends who loved her very much and will miss her dearly. Nazareth lived for her family and would be constantly praying for all of them, her community, country, and the world at large, especially for those in need, even on her last days on this earth. She was a woman of very strong faith. She absolutely loved life! She would constantly speak about how life was beautiful no matter what. Despite her health conditions, which were for the most part chronic issues, she was always known for her joyful and uplifting attitude and beautiful red smile, as well as her kind and gentle nature. She would always extend words of kindness and love to anyone who was suffering or hurting in any way, especially those she loved. She was funny and very generous to people in need. Something she learned from her mother, whom she adored, had a heart of gold, and was one of the most generous human beings you could ever meet. Her wake will be held at Perry's Funeral Home located at 118 Union Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563 on January 12, 2025, between 2 and 4 pm and 6 and 8 pm. For those who live far away or are ill and unable to attend and would like to still pay their respects, there will be a zoom transmission from 6 to 8 pm. We ask that all people who log in make sure their microphones are always off. If you would like to send flowers, please send them to the funeral home by Sunday January 12 th early in the morning. However, because she will be cremated, we would prefer to have people contribute to planting a tree in her name, and only receive a few flower arrangements. You can find the link to the plant a tree foundation that works with funeral homes around the country on the Funeral home's website. This will help our earth and help keep her legacy of life and love alive. Or you may donate to a charitable organization of your choice in her name, where it will help people in need.
