Joe Roldan, 73, of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away on May 16, 2025, at City of Hope in Duarte, surrounded by loved ones. He fought bravely against an aggressive form of leukemia. Born on November 17, 1951—the same year the world’s first atomic-powered heating unit was built in Britain—Joe was the eldest of four sons born to Gilbert and Sofie Roldan. He grew up in Canoga Park, CA, where he attended Canoga Park High School and later earned an associate’s degree from Pierce College in Chatsworth. In the late 1970s, Joe settled in Thousand Oaks, where he began a new chapter: building a family and dedicating more than 36 years of his life to American Water Works. He was a loyal and hardworking employee, and his commitment to his work was matched only by his focus on his family. An athlete at heart, Joe enjoyed a wide range of sports, from basketball and baseball to football. However, it was golf that truly captured his spirit. Whether on the green or watching the pros, golf was his passion. Joe also loved spending time outdoors—hunting and fishing in the mountains—and found joy in the thrill of horse racing. He was a man who made friends wherever he went. Known affectionately as “Dad,” “Tata,” and “Honey,” Joe was generous, kind, and always ready to lend a helping hand. He lived a life filled with a strong ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support for his family and friends. Joe will be remembered most for his warm heart, easygoing nature, and the many ways he made life better for others. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Tierra Rejada Golf Course in Moorpark, CA, followed by a reception.
